'Public Time' is an effort by my talented musical friends scattered across the continent to reimagine my album 'Private Time'. It was amazing to see the variety of music they made, and selfishly, I've loved seeing the amount of time and effort they poured into this project for me. Check out these artists' other works below and please support them if you can.
None of these remixes or the original songs they're based on could exist without the influence and innovation of Black musicians. Jazz, house, pop, hip hop, rock, funk, disco...basically every form of music I revere is indebted to Black musicians. This country does every citizen a disservice by not investing back into the Black community, opting instead to steal tax dollars away from community budgets into murderous, property-protecting armies. All lives don't matter until Black lives do.
Proceeds from this album will be sent to the East Oakland Collective, who feed Black communities in East Oakland. I'll be matching anything paid on my Bandcamp today up to $200.
